Then you\u2019ll talk together about any treatments you might benefit from.<\/p>\n<p>You may get a teeth cleaning on this visit, or it may be scheduled for a follow-up visit. From start to finish, this first visit will most likely last 1-1 1\/2 hours so we can make sure we\u2019ve given your smile the attention it needs.<\/p>\n<h3>What to Bring With You<\/h3>\n<p>Let\u2019s make sure your visit is a breeze. Don\u2019t forget to bring:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dental X-rays from the last six months.<\/li>\n<li>We can take X-rays if you don\u2019t have them.<\/li>\n<li>Your medical and dental history info, including any medications you\u2019re taking<\/li>\n<li>Your dental insurance card (if you have insurance)<\/li>\n<li>Your parent if you\u2019re under 18 (of if you\u2019re over 18, but just want the company)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Want to get a head start on the forms ahead of time? You can download them <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dentalcareofriverside.net\/patients\/patient-forms\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>New Patient Exam<\/h3>\n<p>When you arrive for your new patient exam, you will be greeted by our friendly front office staff who will help you fill out any paperwork and get you seen promptly\u00a0by the doctor.<\/p>\n<p>Our new patient exam includes the following:<\/p>\n<h4>Digital X-Rays<\/h4>\n<p>Your exam includes full-mouth digital X-rays. Digital X-rays emit 80% less radiation than traditional film X-rays, and the images can be produced much faster and with greater accuracy.<\/p>\n<h4>Intraoral Photos<\/h4>\n<p>An intraoral camera will be used to take digital photos of the inside of your\u00a0mouth, and you will be shown the images on a screen during your exam.<\/p>\n<h4>Full Oral Exam and Consultation<\/h4>\n<p>The doctor will meet with you to conduct a full oral exam and find out your goals and needs. In the oral exam, your gums, teeth and jaw will be checked thoroughly so that any and all issues will be properly identified. The exam includes an oral cancer screening and periodontal exam, during which the doctor probes your gums and checks for signs of gum disease.<\/p>\n<h4>Diagnosis and Written Treatment Plan<\/h4>\n<p>The doctor will go over the results of your exam with you, taking care to clearly explain everything, answer all your questions, and gain an understanding of your particular goals. If you\u2019re interested in dental implants or cosmetic dentistry, for example, the doctor will discuss these procedures in depth with you.
