What Does Accreditation Mean?
Knowing that our surgical center is accredited by the AAAASF provides peace of mind to our patients. To earn accreditation, a surgical center must meet or surpass a series of rigorous standards established by the AAAASF that are designed to ensure patient safety.
The requirements for an office-based surgical center to be accredited include:
- Surgeons must have hospital privileges for any procedure performed.
- Certified anesthetic professionals must be used for deeper levels of anesthesia.
- Specific standards must be met for safe surgical environment, equipment, medications, and so on.
- Standards must be the same as hospital operating rooms.
The AAAASF is considered the “gold standard” for accreditation of office-based surgical centers, and we’re proud of our achievement.
